2018 – 2020 PERSIST_EU PROJECT: Knowledge, Beliefs and Perceptions about Science of European Students

The aim of the project was to develop a tool to assess the initial knowledge of European students in shaping their beliefs and perceptions of various scientific topics, as well as the changes they undergo during the project. In order to understand the origins of students’ ideas and values concerning socially significant issues such as climate change, the consumption of genetically modified foods, or alternative medical treatments, five student consultations were organised in five EU countries, involving 100 students in each country. A total of 500 students voluntarily represented their universities and provided their views, generating valuable data on knowledge, beliefs, and perceptions that are highly relevant for the future development of the European Union.
