M. Bel vo svojom diele Notitia Hungariae novae historico-geographica (ďalej Vedomosti) ponúkol súdobý pohľad na stav, význam, ohlas a konkrétne reálie stolíc Uhorska v rámci Habsburskej monarchie. Bádatelia z oblasti humanitných a spoločenských vied (napr. historici/historickí geografi, filológovia) na Slovensku sa životom a dielom tohto osvietenca zaoberali z rôznych aspektov. Ťažisko výskumov tvorili Belove publikačné aktivity, náboženský život a sondy do vybraných prác autora. V ostatnom decéniu vyšli tlačou aj bilingválne (latinsko-slovenské) verzie Vedomostí vybraných stolíc. Z rešerše literatúry zároveň vyplýva, že Vedomosti konkrétnej stolice (ako celok, príp. ich časť alebo oddiel) neboli doteraz komplexnejšie skúmané a interpretované z pohľadu filologického, historického, resp. historicko-geografického, etnologického alebo archeologického výskumu. Výsledky interdisciplinárneho štúdia Belovho diela pritom možno efektívne uplatniť pri revitalizácii regionálnych identít na príklade historickej krajiny, historických krajinných štruktúr a etnokultúrnych fenoménov aplikáciou kultúrnej trasy, ktorá by priblížila historické, prírodné a spoločenské fenomény územia na základe poznatkov získaných interpretáciou Belovho diela. Podstatou a zároveň cieľom projektu je slovenský preklad latinského originálu Vedomostí Nitrianskej stolice (lat. COMITATUS NITRIENSIS) a jeho štúdium z hľadiska histórie/historickej geografie, archeológie, etnológie a muzeológie. Použitím konkrétnych metodík a metód identifikujeme a zrekonštruujeme vybrané regionálne identity skúmaného územia v prvej polovici 18. storočia (historickú krajinu, resp. jej archetypy, špecifiká a charakter osídlenia, kontexty socio-profesijného zaradenia obyvateľov stolice a i.), ktoré priblíži konvenčná a virtuálna kultúrna trasa. Výstupy projektu majú materiálový, analytický i aplikačný charakter.
Nitra County Notitia by Matthias Bel (interpretation and application)
Matthias Bel in his work Notitia Hungariae novae historico-geographica (hereinafter referred to as the "Notitia") offered a contemporary perspective of the state, significance, reception and specific facts concerning Hungarian counties within the Habsburg Monarchy. Humanities and social sciences researchers (e.g. historians/historical geographers, philologists) in Slovakia have studied various aspects of the life and work of this representative of the Enlightement. The core of the research was represented by Bel's publishing activities, his religious life and indepth probes into author's selected works. During the past decade a bilingual (Latin-Slovak) version of the Liptov, Orava, Turiec and Trenčín County were published. However, based on the scholarly literature research, it is evident that the Notitia of a particular Slovak county (or its selected parts) has not been sufficiently analyzed and scientifically interpreted from the philological, historical or historical-geographical and ethnological point of view. Nevertheless the results of analysis and interpretation of Bel's work within the scope of these disciplines can be effectively applied for instance in the context of revitalization of regional identities on the example of the landscape and particular ethno-cultural phenomena of selected Slovak regions. The essence as well as the main objective of the project is a Slovak translation of the Latin original of the Nitra County Notitia (lat. COMITATUS NITRIENSIS) and its historical-geographical, philological and ethnographic analysis. By employing specific methods we will identify and reconstruct selected regional identities of the examined area – e.g. cultural landscape and its structure, character of settlement, a way of life or the specifics of socio-professional classification of the county population in the first half of the 18th century. The outputs of the project will have a material, analytical and application character.
